About our Programmes

We turn skills and resources into long-term self-reliance — creating jobs, growing food and developing new ventures for the communities we serve.

Small Business Development

Block Making

The organisation has purchased a block-making machine to initiate economic empowerment through block making — several homes in the surrounding communities are in need of blocks for construction.

The supplier has also provided training for block making. This is a current project still in Phase 1 of its development. We envision three people employed full-time to manufacture blocks and paving bricks — and in time, a real economic skill for those in rehabilitation programmes to earn a living.

Food Security

Food Security Program

The organisation has partnered with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to host agricultural training for the planting of subsistence vegetable gardens.

A 400m² vegetable garden was developed on the property which is cultivating and harvesting different vegetables daily — brinjal, spinach, pineapples and mangoes among them.

These vegetables are sold to the local community for as little as R5 for an assortment of vegetables — covering seeds, inputs and the services of a gardener to maintain the vegetable garden. Through farming we promote food security, environmental care and long-term community development.
